South Central Railway collected Rs 25K as a fine from ticketless passengers.

The South Central Railway (SCR) on Saturday collected Rs 25000 as a fine from ticketless passengers at Mudkhed railway station.

According to an SCR official, the surprise ticket checking squad, which launched the drive in various trains and on the platform of Mudkhed, found that taking advantage of a heavy rush, many ticketless travellers were entering the coaches with heavy luggage, causing difficulty to other passengers.

The squad also found that many hawkers were doing their business on the platform illegally. 

Divisional Railways Manager Trikalagya Rabha appealed to the passengers to travel with valid ticket and cooperate the railway administration, Public Relations Officer Rajesh Shinde said
