Do not believe in rumours

"Do not believe in rumours" SP appeals to the public.

Following the tragedies of the lynching of five people by a mob on suspicion that they were part of a gang of child lifters in Dhule, superintendent of police Chandrakishor Mina appealed the public not to believe in the rumours which are being spread through social media.

The incident at Dhule is said to be a result of rumours spread through social media and five persons have fallen prey to the anger of a mob.

In order to thwart any such incident happening in the district, SP Mina appealed the people, in a press note released here, not to forward any such message about the so-called child lifters, which may result in the innocent persons like beggars, mentally retarded and rag-pickers falling prey to the anger of the unruly mob.

The police force was attempting to create awareness about the things through various media and keeping a watch on the messages, which are responsible for spreading the rumours.

The SP has also appealed the people to report to the police any such suspicious message being spread on the social media.
